What is Meditation?
Meditation is
a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the thinking mind into a deeper state of awareness and relaxation. In meditation, we attempt to quiet the mind and detach ourselves from our everyday thoughts
and emotions. Even if we don’t stop our thoughts completely, by sitting quietly, we can began to feel more relaxed.
Guided meditation leads you through the process of drawing focus on your
breath, relaxing your body, while leading you on a spiritual journey.
A simple meditation with music helps you to relax while enabling you to go
to a quiet space inside yourself. The goal is to connect with your true self.

What
do I need to Meditate?
You need to be in a place that is comfortable
and free from distractions when you are meditating. Any position in which you're
relaxed but your back is straight is permissible, even lying down - but be careful that you're not so relaxed that you fall
asleep.
You may sit on level ground or on a cushion if the ground is uncomfortable. You don't have to
twist your limbs into the lotus position or adopt any unusual postures. The important thing is to keep your back straight,
as this will help with breathing later on.
You may lean against a wall or
meditate on a chair as long as your back is straight. Your feet should rest solidly on the ground if you are sitting on a
chair. Please bring a mat, blanket, or pillows of some type so that you can lay
on or sit cross legged comfortably for about 45minutes to an hour.
